Re: My computer problem

This could be a tricky one.

In your profile, does IE fail to launch or it just won't display pages after it launches?

Re: My computer problem

The internet explorer fails to launch and i always get an error message saying it has become non responsive.I then have to shut it down using the end now comand.Every now and then it will come up but when i go to give it a comand or a web site to find it freezes up and becomes un resposive again.Any sugestions would be greatly appreciated.Im driving my daughter nuts using her profile, like im going to see something she does not want me to see.hum

I'd delete all temp files, cookies, internet temp files.

Run anti-spyware programs (spybot and or ad-aware).

You could always create a new user and move you files to that profile

Because the program work for your daughter, the program itself seems to be OK. It's something with your profile I'd say.

Re: My computer problem

Ok here's a simple test you can do...

Go to Start -> Run, then type msconfig and click ok

Change it to Selective startup and uncheck startup items.

That'll disable most of the programs that startup automatically. Reboot, and try your IE again. If it works, you can enable one startup item at a time until you can cause IE to mess up. You should be able to locate which program it is that causing the problem.

If disabling the startup items has no effect let us know.

Re: My computer problem

Well that's good. You might want to look in Add/Remove programs and remove anything that doesn't belong and then scan with a good anti-spyware utility. Having a good, up to date anti-virus program would be good too if you don't already.
