I fixed my dryer yesterday!!
I am a member of FreeCycle I just signed up for my new area and saw an ad for a gas Kenmore dryer. Mine died, it is an electric. While searching for a replacement motor, $140 for motor and blower fan, I noted that they looked the same electric or gas. I e-mailed the owner, got the gas dryer and stripped it.
I changed over the motor and wooohoooo, my dryer works.
I looked around on e-bay and pcappliancerepair.com to price the leftover parts. I got between $2-300 worth of spare parts now. :D :D
Monday is large item pickup day. Shell will be gone then.

AK Chappy

Re: My Dryer

Youre a man after my own heart! I fix everything I can, I have to admit though, Its getting harder to do the older that I get. I just dont like getting down on the floor as much as I used to.

Re: My Dryer

I am just glad to have the dryer working again.
It has been hot enough to dry everything on the line, but NO WIND!!!
Made for some rough towels :(

Mucho better now, and if I sell a couple of those items on e-bay it will pay for my gas. Ok, maybe if I sell ALL of the spares, it'll pay for my gas. :D

AK Chappy
