My first stall and no-start mystery answered... now I need to find the part.

I have a 2007 VP 5.0GXi-G. While motoring at high idle, the smooth-running engine abruptly died. It restarted a few times, but would not stay running. As this was the maiden voyage of our newly-acquired boat (shake-down cruise), I was not yet familiar with all the systems and what could cause a stall - nor did I have all the tools on-board. I was towed to the dock and I took it home to troubleshoot.

While fighting the stuck fuel filter on the fuel cell, the low pressure pump connector just rolled off. I looked at the connector, and the engine side of the connector has a broken lock (connector not locking down). I looked at the pins on the low pressure fuel pump and there is corrosion. I can fix the corrosion on the pins, but the broken connector on the engine harness needs to be replaced. I looked at the price of an engine harness at Volvo, and we're talking a boat buck ($1000), so that's not gunna happen. Is there a source for the 2-blade low fuel pressure pump connector on the engine side?

Just get a new connector and pigtail. Your local napa should have a selection

Have looked for the connector many times and have yet to find it.

Yeah... I did a search for the connector before asking, and I can't find any reference to a part number or description. I did, however, find a Ford logo on the connector. It's a start.

I'll look into my Ford resources and see what I can learn.

Stubbornness prevails yet again. The fuel pump connector on the engine wire harness is an EV1LP-F1 Female Connector [LINK]. The connector to the High Pressure pump is a part number 106462-1 fuel injector connector, but it's a bear to get in quantities less than 100.

I have the same exact engine, but the boat is in the shop for another day or so. As soon as I get it, I'll look to see what I can find out about the connector. I had a similar issue for the oil pressure sending unit connector. The connector attached to the harness wasn't making a good connection/positive lock. I found the right part by doing some searching on generic oil pressure sending units and associated connectors, and matched up by appearance. Bought the one I need at Autozone for $18 and cut the old one off the harness and attached new, and fixed the problem. Hoping you can find a similar solution.

I just needed the EV1LP-F1 connector, and it's on order from Idaho for about 6 bucks (plus a spare, for that price).

AllDodge, if you have any markings on the Merc connector, plus an image of it - I can cash in some of this good luck I'm having and see if I can apply it to your problem.

Never have seen any numbers on the connectors. The pumps are sold by Airtex in model Electric fuel low pressure E11003
Electric fuel high pressure E11004

These are what they look like

I found this as an alternative: [LINK] I'm not saying this is the right size, but it's on the path to finding the connector.

P.S. I'm on a mission now... I shall not be thwarted by a connector.

Airtex makes fuel pumps (mechanical and electric) for Merc and you can even find their name on the side of the pump. The pics I posted where just ones grab off the net yesterday. Trying to find the OSO thread which articfriends was needing a connector to run a EFI setup on his dyno
