my homemade gimbal bearing installer

so i made this to install my gimbal bearing, and it turns out it also worked as a perfect tool to install the metal retainer ring for the u joint bellow. figured i would post pics for anyone who wants to make one as well. 3 pvc pieces from home depot is all that is needed.



the threaded part fits perfectly against the gimbal bearing to install it (the threads obviously arent needed, was the only piece i could find that fit correctly)
and then when installing the retaining ring for the ujoint bellow the threaded part actually fit perfectly in the retainer and the lip seated against it making it a perfect tool to tap the retainer in place. im pretty sure i was able to assemble it for under $15. i put an end cap on so there was a surface to hammer on

Nothing can be touching the gimbal bearing during the install, the pressure is put on the tolerance ring only

thats what it was hitting, nothing was touching anything that could be damaged
