Re: my little 16 ft center console
darn it takes along time to load.. well here goes... i saw the plans in a book , just like the first one... an instantly fell in love with her...i had to have it.. it's a stich & glue.. it took 9 months to build.. workin' on her after work & weekends.. not all but most.. but i'll tell ya's ,, seems like i get more done after work.. about 3 hrs worth & seems like ya have to stop anyway for somethin' i epoxied to set-up anyway.. an heck after work i'm already dirty & in work clothes.. she's made from 3/8 doug fir marine ply & a phillipine mohogany frame inside.. all PAINSTAKINGLY kept dry.. i used 16 gallons of epoxy total.. used 1 gallon alone with fillers to set the keel..used lots of fillers.. silica, micro-ballons & milled fiberglass powder.. everything you can see white , an more the pics don't show , is made-up epoxy putty.. believe me,,, i'm a putty mixin' s o b... an everythin' thats been puttied has at least 2 layers of biaxial cloth 'poxied on... everythin'...no exceptions...in the 2nd pic down shows a 2x4 across the stringers.. an if you look close in the center it's a piece of bolt rod .. i had a rocker in the hull.. glad i found it before i 'poxied in the center stringer.. cause it was bad & if i did i mite as well poured gasoline on it an burned it rite there...cranked up on the bolt rod some , nitely & 'bout a week i got it out ... then when i glued in the center stringer, left 3 days to cure.. removed bolt rod & it was fine.. i really , really love the boat.. it's everything.. the only fault is that its not bigger.. an she can't help that...not her fault.. she's fast 30 mph... an very, very stable.. turns high speed like a wet bike.. i really like the boat .. an handles big water very well.. she's the little big boat... sometimes to big for her britches... she's 15 ft & 9 inches long , 6ft & 6 in. beam, wieght n/a ..plans say hull 350 lbs. hull glassed with 7.5 oz cloth with epoxy.. matter-a-fact ALL glue & resin & putty is epoxy..the floor is glass but the inside sides & all other wood has AT LEAST 2 coat of 'poxy..encapsulation.. paint is a top-side .. put on with the roll-brush-&-tip method..all natural hondras & peru mohogany wood is multi coats of varnish.. cost ::: well the whole shootin'match cost $7,200 dollars..got $4,000 in the motor & trailer combined..got $600 in doo-dads , compass , gps, pfd, radio ( hand-held ),anchor ,ect,ect...so the boat cost the rest.. $2,600 dollars.. well ya don't build a boat to save money... like to say thanks to all who responds..an a special thanks to FRANKI from austrailia, who made it possiable to post these pics.. THANKS AGAIN ,FRANK... this is sometimes a tough board.. but when we give a little pat-on-the-back... believe me it does feel good.. like to thank you's again .. an STRIPER , gee , i even made your dad's day .. well GOD bless him.. an HOOTY ,, i always liked you.. you don't say much at one time ,, but you always say alot.. me & you just did some wrestlin' a little while ago. an for you to post me an " attaboy" like that..you are a bigger man then i thought & bigger than-alot-folks

... well that's enough huggin' for one nite ... still don't mean we can't tangle some more sometimes ..
