My merc 1150 thunderbolt

I have searched for two weeks on-line to find out a year for the motor I bought in June. It is a merc 1150 thunderbolt with a SN: 7038571.<br />Every time I have searched this number it comes up as invalid. I hace checked the plate a number of times to make sure that it is correct. Help.

My merc 1150 has 6 cylinders.

I went through this not that long ago.<br /><br />I belive you have a 1978 Merc 115<br /><br />It was the 571st motor built in March of that year. <br /><br />Hope this helps.
