I bought a MMC card over the net 16meg. I also got a USB 2.0 progammer. I Download the software from lowrance. I install it on the card. I put the card into my LCX-15. It tells me MMC card not formatted. So...I figure..let the unit do the work for me. I let it format the card. I put it back into the writer to install the update and it tells me not recognized. If I format the card wit the computer...the lowrance doesn't recog the card and if I format the card with the lowrance...the computer doesn't recog. the card. ARGGGGG!!!
What can I do or what am I doing wrong?

My thoughts...........

If the card was previously formatted for JPEG pictures with a camera it may have compromised the ability to read or format data files for your plotter.

I have the LCX 18 and just bought two 64meg clone MMC cards for it at wally world for $14.99 each.

Kevin

hum.... I don't think it was compromised cause I can reprogram it on my computer. Then I install the 2.5 ver of software that Lowrance says I must do before I go to ver 3. I put the chip in the unit and it says the chip is empty. The unit will format the chip and then it show the chip blank( Now I can use it for a trip). So now I take the chip back to the computer and it says the chip is not formated. IT's like the unit is reading in DOS and my computer ( win2k) is reading in NTFS. They just won't communicate with each other cause of the different formats. I guess I'll email lowrance and see what they can help me with. I have a feeling that my programmer (USB2.0) is not compatible with whatever format the lowrance. 1.5 software ver takes. F me man!!
