Ok ,, New guy here , My name is Jamie and I live in Victoria ... New to the fiberglass boat thing , just got a steal of a deal on a 16 ft double eagle ... So I was cleaning her up ( shes been sitting a while ] and I find a brass plug in the rear of the boat that screws out it seems to go to the lower [ sealed ] portion of the hull . What is this for ? How do I check for H20?
Is the bottom oof a Eagle sealed ????
Any help would be great

thanks
the new guy

Re: my new boat

giz - From your description it is not clear to me where this plug is. Most boats have a through hull drain at the bottom of the transom that takes a plug. It is used to drain any water that gets into the hull out. I don't recall ever seeing a outboard or I/O type boat without this. Haven' seen a sealed hull either.

By the way getting a "small" amount of water below the deck is normal.

Re: my new boat

the "pigs nose" description makes me think of a deck cap, such as what you would find for filling the fuel, water or other tank on a cabin cruiser.

Thats what I think it looks like , a fuel inlet , ive seen them on other boats , OK so can anyone confirm a 16 ft eagle may have a fuel tank .....
