my older 20hp merc skips and runs bad

hi all, looks like a nice place here.
i have a older merc outboard 20hp. the one with the shifter rite on the tiller handle. but anyway, i just bought it and been haveing problems with it. took the carb apart and noticed the float had some gas in it. so i changed the float hopeing my problems were over but no such luck. she starts up fairly good cold and seems to run wide open pretty decent but after shes warmed up it slips in and out about half throtle and will not idel at all. any tips?

Welcome! What is the year model and serial number of your motor? This well help others help you. Also, give us some more information on the condition of the motor, and repairs that have been made.
