I have two issues my pontoon boat is a 1998 I just bought it and it leans to the left as if it has water in the toon. I cannot get the plugs out so I am going to try an easy out tool on the copper plugs. Would that be a good idea? Is it possible to have air fittings added to the toons and pressurize it? Would it make it float better are it a silly suggestion. Thanks for any help..

one or two pounds of air will tell you if it is leaking and help you find the bad place. Much more than that will ruin it.

I work for a pontoon manufacturer and we get ask that all the time.

NO, air in the tubes will not make it float better, the only way to make the boat more bouyant would be to increase the size of the tubes, look at the first post in this forum, that is what happens when you get too much air in a tube.

Leaning boats are pretty common, is your gas tank on that side by chance?

I have "fixxed" alot of boat that leaned and it turned out to be just the gas tank.

If you have access to a trailer put the boat on it, have someone drive forwards slowly then stop suddenly, put your ear on the tube and you will be able to hear water sloshing if there is any.

I am also geussing that these plugs are in the bottom of the tubes, those you will probably have to drill and tap and put some antiseize on the new ones so they don't seize on you again.
