My Water Broke

I have a 1989 120 hp johnson , not sure if impeller/water pump is working or working well,,, boat is still on trailer, with hose hooked to it no water from tell tale, removed the thermostats n gaskets n replaced covers a ran the boat for a few seconds, had water leaking from t-stat covers, gave it a little gas a had even more water leaking from covers,,also had a few drips of water from the tell tale,,,installed new thermostats and still no water from the tell tale,,,any advice/help on what the trouble could be would be much appreciated,,,

Impeller is a good place to start, even if it is intact it could still be soft and not drive the water. With the thermos out you can say that them opening up isn't a problem.

LoL,,,I wanted an attention getter for a title,,,,thanks for the input,,,would you be able to explain to me how to unhook the shifter rod so i can remove the lower unit as ive never done it,,seen it on tv a few times but none were johnson motors,,,thanks again

Did you run a piece of weedwhacker line up the pee hole to see if it was obstructed?

lmao,,starting to rethink my attention getter of a title,,and its misdeal as in a messed up deal in poker not miss deal as in a female poker dealer, lol,,, and yes i did run a small wire up the tell tail or pee hole as it were,,,dont seem to be blocked,,,

could it a problem with the water control valve or is the impeller the prime suspect here ?
