Hello all, new to the forum. I have a 1992 24ft. Harris Flotebote with a 1991 85 hp Yamaha. I'm looking to purchase a new prop and am wondering with today's technology if the props of today are better than the factory N.O.S. I,m looking at the 13 5/8 x 13p stock Yamaha vs. the 13 5/8 x 13p Solas. I'm at 6000 rpm should be around 5200. Thanks for your thoughts.

Re: N.O.S. prop vs. new Solas

Im not sure what a Floatbote is, is it a pontoon? On my glass 16ft deep V with a 90hp Johnny, I went from a NOS 13 1/4 x17p to a Solas 13 1/4x 17p and lost about 100 rpm, but gained 1 mph (gps). All props are not the same, even though numbers are. Differant makers will shape the blades a tad bit differant, and its a crap shoot sometimes. If your looking to drop rpms, I would go to a 15p, but you should have gps mph also to compare.
