hey guys I need the part #'s for my motor. I heard napa gets chrysler parts so i called napa and they said the computer didn't go back that far :D but i thought the comp. would recognize the part numbers its a 67-69 55hp chrysler model # 5553 "yes im sure" some books don't list that # but the parts are for impeller, head gasket and exhaust manifold kit but the way how many piece's are in that manifold deal looks like 3 not counting main cover and if you could email the torque specs and tightning sequence. I know i need a book, the one at the library is out and im still checking a few places for the best price on a selok (suggestions welcome) ps. alot of the old posts talk of cleaning pudddle valve being a must, but they never really told were it is located thanks for your help p.s.s ya might want to check my other prob. post up right now (it will explain) before giving part #'s

thanks again guys

My suggestion is to go to the napa store and ask for the marine products catalogue...they just gave me a catalogue so I can look stuff up myself. The other thing to do and my personal choice is to go to the Chryslercrew web site and ask them...they prolly can get you genuine Chrysler parts for the same prices you would pay at napa...just a thought :)

A Lido Crazy,Mercury has Chrysler parts but only go back to 1974.I'd almost bet the parts would be the same, but I'd be betting with your money.
Somebody must have an old partbook tucked somewhere.
DHP

Their computer doesn't go back that far? What they really mean is, I don't want to mess with you. And I am too lazy to look in my marine catolog. That's alright you don't need them for marine parts, or any other parts for that matter. You just need to go to my favorite place. Some where else. Sorry, I get a little bent when I hear of poor customer service. I can't stand walking up to a parts counter with a part, needing a replacement. Then being asked "whats it offa?". Nope, ain't got em, you got to go to the dealer. All I can say is, there must be a hell of a profit in air fresheners and wax. Other than that I don,t see how some of these outfits stay in business, they don't sell parts.

alcan,I am hoping you are venting to the previous posts, not mine.As a dealer I can look up parts, and Mercury lets me do it with their software. While I can look up parts for an old Mark 30H,they only go back to 1974 on chrysler.
DHP
also we have no stinking air frsheners BIG GRIN.
Ain't they awful?

Hi DHP
I was venting mostly about Napa dealers in this case. I do do business with some Napa dealers that are TOPS. They will supply parts for everything, heavy trucks, farm equipment, outboards or what ever. There are Napa dealers that are just worthless, (the ones nearest to me). I recomend Napa as a source for parts because in some towns the Napa Guy is the only game around. And in this case I feel it is a lot easier to find a Napa dealer than a Chrysler Marine dealer. I do have a problem with anyone who lets an electronic toy such as a computer do their thinking for them or uses as an excuse not to think. You know, the I can't sell you any cuz my puter don't work. Hey it's a cash transaction. Take the money, give me my stuff, give me my change, and we're done. Man I am on a roll. DHP, I have very few problems with Marine dealers.

Good Evening alcan.I know just what you mean. But in the auto parts business, and todays computer programs, all they have to do is punch keys.Worthless becomes clueless.I'm not all that familiar with NAPA,but I do have their catolog. While not huge,I think they use Sierra numbers,so if you get a Sierra catolog, you can figure what you want, and order by number.
DHP
That will really astound the kid behind the counter.Maybe make him look deeper into his computer, rather say it can't be done.
NAH
