Nascar Chase Race #7 - A Headache in Martinsville

A short, difficult Martinsville track could give some of the remaining 8 Chasers headaches. It's a good thing Goody's is the race sponsor - Free samples, anyone?

Cup and Trucks are in the first race of their next Chase round and the 4 survivors in both series after Phoenix will vie for their Championship at Homestead. X-Men will have their second race in their Chase round next week at Texas. From MRN, the weekend schedule;



Slight rain chances through the week end, but precip shouldn't cause any issues.

News and Notes

• All hail the gods of Nascar! :hail: Finally some restrictions on Buschwhackers. They can only drive in 10 X-Races and 7 Truck races beginning next year. Also they cannot drive in any lower series Chase races or in the 4 X-Men Dash For Cash races. Not perfect, up it's a start. Check out the details on the Shrubby Rule. Shrubby won half of the races he's entered in X and Trucks. He will now have a harder time catching the 200 Petty wins, although Petty's 200 wins were all in the top tier.
• Talladega penaties - Kahne and Truex failed pre-race lasers twice and Labonte and Allmendinger failed pre-race templates twice.
• Silly Season news - Rumor has it that Biffle will leave Roush and move over to a new second team at JTG Daugherty Racing. Stay tuned.
• TV ratings - Lower than last year and the lowest since 2000. The TV highlight - The highest ratings for the Chase this year.

With only 4 races left, including the finale at Homestead, TcS can be caught. Once again TcS had a bad race, when Keso and Truex both wrecked out and fell out of the Chase. Make changes and picks carefully. Good luck.

Truex is on the pole, wonder if he passed laser this time?

2 through 12 is Logano, Johnson, Allmendinger, Elliott, Stewart, Edwards, Hamlin, Shrubby, Gordon (his last race?), Larson, and Ragan.

Chasers not in the top 12 are Harvick starting 20, Kenseth in 17th and Busch41 is starting 23rd.

Non-Chaser Stenhouse is going to the back in a backup car.

The "official" count was 29 laps and 25 minutes to put almost every driver in the right place. Almost because some teams are saying Nascar blew it.

tough crowd. i had JJ, Hamlin, Gordon, and 'Dinger and still only finished 4th and they were all top 10. my other driver was Mears. shows how good these guys are

In our overall race, Trackchick Stars has a 208 lead over 64osby. 64 got 113 points more than TcS. With 3 races to go, can 64 do that in each race??????

All three series are at Texas this weekend.

Was hoping for a Kenseth win for bonus points. Had a good day at the track, not as good as FFN, but hey. Congrats to FFN.

GA, 3 races like that would be awesome, I'd also take 2 and a tie. Time will tell, it is all a crapshoot.
