Up to Brooklyn, Brooklyn Michigan that is, for the Trucks on Saturday and the Pure Michigan 400 on Sunday. The X-Men are down at Mid-Ohio for a road race this weekend. The schedules for both venues from MRN;

The weather for the Michigan events don't look good for Friday and Saturday, Sunday looks a lot better, not perfect.

The entry list has 44 names on it and Reed Sorenson is on the bubble this week.

News And Notes
- Nascar is looking at possibly adding another Truck dirt track race. Knoxville Raceway in Iowa has been the rumored track.
- A few weeks ago I mentioned that Nascar owned ISC was taking over management of the Laguna Seca track in California. Now the current the management/promoter has begun to fight back. The track is county owned and the promoters are asking for intervention by county residents.
- Indy was the first use of the high down force aero package and many drivers complained about trapped heat in the cars with the package. Michigan is using the same package with higher forecast temps and Nascar has mandated dual air outlets in the right rear window. Another untested rule change. Maybe it will work? Keso predicts more than the usual number of breakdowns from the heat and the aero package.
- Free food - Little Caesars is giving away free $5 HOT-N-READY Lunch Combos with a 20 oz. Pepsi. See the Little Caesars website for details. Hint, Hint - Jeff Gordon has to win this weekend.
- Wanna guess about the TV ratings for Watkins Glen.............................................. ...........................Down again!
- Just found out about another freebie of sorts. When Logono wins a Cup points race, the following WINSday, Wednesday for us normal folk, Shell Saver cardholders can save 22 cents per gallon. Shell WINSday
- Watkins Glen is repaving and the repave could mean Cup cars could run "the boot" again. This section of the track had deteriorated to the point that Nascar deemed it too bumpy for Cup cars. The track length would go from 2.45 miles to 3.4 miles.
- On a sad note, as mentioned in another thread, Buddy Baker passed this week. The first driver to over 200 MPH on a closed course and Daytona winner. As he said when announcing inoperable lung cancer last month - "Do not shed a tear. Give a smile when you say my name. I'm not saying goodbye. Just talk to you later,"

The Watkins Glen winner was Gear Grinder 3. He got his 1st :first: of the year. Congrats,
FlaCowboy is still leading the pack in the overall standings. aspeck chipped away at his lead a bit, about 300 points separate the two now.
