Here's a little story I wanted to share.

I took my girlfriend to Natchez MS to see her folks for christmas.

While there I was sitting in the oldest bar in the country, under the hill, next to the house Mark Twain wrote in, par taking in many a cold beverage, listening to one great band (guitar player sounded like Jeff Beck) and a whole slew of guest musician's when the conversation went to the fact that there are no docks at all on the river there.

Now the first blow was to find out that the river boats don't run anymore due to their wooden structures being a fire hazard!

But there is absolutely no way to stop in Natchez (a historic port on the river) by boat unless you don't mind leaving it on the rocks!

I couldn't believe this because for one- the town is dying and two- how can you stop while doing the great loop?

So here's where I thought it was real funny or I was real drunk, guess it's up to you to guess, but unlike most people getting drunk in a bar talking about things- I was talking to the city planner. (girlfriends stepfather)

He said that his friend who does the same work was visiting and pointed it out to him too.

Needless to say I proceeded to fill his ear with way to much info about the loop and the river and ....
