Anyone know where I could find a used gearcase for a 1979 115 Mercury outboard?

just seen 2 today in a trash pile at oak brook marine #843-871-7516. i know one is a 1977, and the other is a 75. they were part of a project that i had sold to someone that traded in the whole boat project for a new mariah. the casings were good. dont know why they are out there. the shrouds and all are out there too along with extra carbs. in this area they are not wanted.

2K BOAT, I called oak brook marine and the guy that answered the phone said they didnt have anything and that there was nothing of that nature laying around there. I was told today that a lower unit from a 110 to a 140 would fit. Thanks for your time. Terry

he lied i was out there today, seen them both didnt bother to ask him what they were doing with them sitting out there in a pile though. im going back there on monday ill ask, the old man is kinda strange in that he really doesnt like to part with anything. seems like he would rather throw it away them sell something.<br />both motors were the 1150 one ith red band the other with blue.<br />now you can try this guy, he told me when i was getting parts for mine that i could load all the merc parts of that era and get them off his property, 843-688-4255.

I thought the guy was full of it. He told me that he didnt have anything of that nature laying around. My motor has a blue band around it. I even told him that someone was just down there and that he did have them laying in a pile.
