Are you sure on that model number. I want to say 1979 but cant find anything with that model number. I cant even find a single model that ends with E. My guess is that the water pump has not changed from year to year. Water pump body is part number FA525060 from mercury and the impeller is F525065. The pump goes for 145 dollars on doug russell site. It does not appear to have a thermostat. Recheck that model number and see if it is correct.
