I have a 1996 200 Mariner EFI outboard motor.
The electric fuel pump is froze up in the vapor seperator tank. I used the Seafoam for 2 days to no avail. The part number I need is 809088 1.
My serial number for motor is OG325292 and the Model# for motor is 7200413ED w/20" shaft. The cheapest I found so far is for $475 from BOATS.Net
Anybody who could lead me to a better website with cheaper $$$$$ would sure be appreciated. I will check back later for now I'll sign off. Thanks in advance for any help that I receive.

Re: need a Electric fuel pump

I've saved a few with a toggle switch and a few wires. I rigged a DPDT toggle switch so I could energize the pump with normal polarity in one switch position, then reverse polarity in the opposite position. Rapid rocking back-and-forth of the switch frequently breaks the armature free. You could also try the same thing with a simple on-off toggle by just energizing and shutting it off in the same rapid manner and it might break free after many attempts, but getting the armature to try to move backward and forward seems to be the difference between saving it or not. The simple toggle works on lightly varnished pumps, the reverse polarity method is able to break-up a much tougher build-up. The stuff you'd need would cost less than $10US.

Re: need a Electric fuel pump

Hello again everybody. I just got back on line this evening and saw all the replies. I spent the day taking the electric fuel pump apart. The inside of that puppy was in very bad shape. It had RUST all on the inside. Never took one apart before but it resembles the inside of a trolling motor. I've read about the toggle switch before but the only thing about doing that is how to get rid of all that rust inside. I noticed that the brushes were stuck and all I did was turn shaft by hand and hooked battery juice to it and she hummed like a new one.
I went ahead and ordered the new pump today from Boats.net and should receive it next week. I would have re-used the old one but do not want to take the chance of it rusting again. It's ashame that pump went out in the first place. I bought this boat 2 weeks ago and it has only been in the water 15 times since 1996. The rest of the time it has sat in a basement. It's a 20'2" SCX Elite CHAMPION bassboat. Thanks again for replies.
