I have a 1978 17ft Ranger Bass Boat. It is actually in very good condition, however it has a very ugly green metal flake paint job and the bottom is a really ugly mint green. I want to sand and re-coat both top and bottom with another metal flake color but I do not know the first thing about painting. I do have an automotive canister style spray gun. A few questions:
1. What kind and brand name of metal flake paint/gel coat do I need to use for the top ( I already know what color I want).
2. What kind and brand name of paint/gel coat do I need to use for the bottom.
3. What do I use to fill in holes and deep scuff marks.
4. Besides paint/gel coat, what materials do I need to successfully refinish my boat.
5. Once I have all the materials I need what are the steps I need to take to refinish the top and bottom of my boat.
Any and all direction and advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm new to this forum and definitely new to painting. Thanks a lot for your help!!!
