Need a recommendation for a Carb rebuild shop.

I going to get my carb rebuilt. It is a Holly 4 bbl model 80383-1 on a 5.8 L ford on a 4Winns with an OMC OD.

I'm in California near Huntington Beach so a local shop would be great.

I'm considering nationalcarburetors.com. They will rebuild mine to marine specs for $226.

There is a BIG difference in prices between automotive and marine carbs. What do I need to ask or look for to be sure I'm getting it done to marine specs?

Any other thoughts?

Thank You

the gaskets are the same, the only difference between a marine holley and an automotive holley is the throttle shafts have o-rings on a a marine holley to contain fuel leaks and automotive does not. the vent tubes on an automotive unit are straight, and, an the J-tubes are on a marine holley.

the carb kit for your motor will have the proper power valve in it. you will re-use your existing jets, nozzles, etc.

a carb kit is about $35, and my guess is they are charging 1-1/2 hours of labor

you could rebuild it yourself for the $35 kit, a can of carb cleaner and 3 hours of your time.
