Re: NEED A WINDSHIELD

Fastboat, When I went looking for a windshield for my speedboat, I found a plastics manufacturer who was willing to make one for me. He requested that I make a plywood form, that he could heat and bend the acrylic plastic around. I did not use his suggestion, since for my boat (low profile) an effective windshield would have been unsightly (too high in proportion to the reat of the boat).

I would think that for your boat, you would want a walk through, safety glass style. Since 19' bowriders are very common boats, why not contact SeaRay or other major manufacturers for something that would work?

Also, there are universal style replacements available in catelogs. I cannot remember who stocks these at this moment. Perhaps an internet search would turn up some.

What are you looking for? The glass (or plastic), the frame, or both?

If it's just the glass (or plastic), is it a flat piece or curved?

If it's flat, plastic or glass, take the boat to a automobile glass shop. The ones around here do a steady business in replacing boat glass and plastic, with very quick turnaround. (I work next to one and have a steady stream of boats in the parking lot to drool over).

If it's curved - I've never dealt with that so don't know.

See if you have any boat salvages close to you, there are a lot of walk thru windshilds that will work, welcome to the forum. Like already stated if it's a flat safty glass you can get glass replaced at the auto glass shop.

Re: NEED A WINDSHIELD

Thanks for you help.. We have looked throughout the internet and yellow pages and no salvage yards have the right windshield. The glass is curved that's what make it imposable to find. We will continue to look and maybe with your help we might get lucky and locate the to pieces of front glass that we need..... thanks again
