I am a newbie and could really use the community's advice on a purchase I am looking to make. Found the following and it seems like a really good deal, but its a bit of a battle with the wife so was hoping for some more ammo from you all.

Here are the specs:

Early 90's Mako dual console with same year 150 yamaha. comes on a tandem trailer and includes a 4-stroke kicker. i have seen the boat, hull is in very good shape, no paint, deck is solid, no soft spots. don't know compression, but yamaha starts and runs very smoothly from idle, on up. boat has built in trim tabs, bimini in nice shape. includes new fish finder and vhf. Guy wants $6k for the whole package.

I am thinking this would be a great mixed-use family boat and fishing boat, trailerable, but still seaworthy enough to take out on the big water.

What do you all think this is worth, and would it be a good choice for my intended use?

thanks!

Mako is a great boat, in this boat market, it may be steep. before, good price.
where are you located, that has a lot to do with it.
