Need advice on how-to paint a boat

I have 1988 Galaxy boat. The paint on it looks like it's the original from 1988. I am thinking about repainting the whole boat. <br />What paint should I use? <br />Where do I get the paint for a boat? <br />What's the suggested way of painting it?<br />Do I need to sand down the old paint?<br /><br />Thanks,<br />Lenny

There are more ways to it. A complete paint is not a job done easily.<br /><br />Marine paint dealers normally have leaflets with instructions and suggestions. Some end up having professionals spray paint it.<br /><br />If the boat is in original state, what you see is not a painted surface, it is gelcoat. There are products to restore gelcoat which you might consider also.
