Replacing the lift out center board on the floor of my 84 model boat.. the pics are below..what kind of plywood is it? is that marine or exterior? I'll just put back whatever it is. Also whats good to coat it with?? It's actually not hurt but one spot at the edge is slighty soft so I wanna just replace it.

can you get a pic of the side of the board? I want too see how many plys it has.

anyway.... maring grade plywood is still plywood, only each ply is glued together with waterproof elmers glue, in lue of the standard.

Now exterior, I have no idea.

I'll ask my dad the wood expert.... his phones busy

Pic #1-2, looks like exterior plywood to me. Marine plywood would have the knots patched and thinner plies, the knots break-outs look to be a pretty thick plies.

Pic #3-4, not that great of a pic to see the grain, but I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say it's quarter sawn white oak. If it is white oak and in good condition, just refinish it and reinstall. If white oak was good enough for "Old Ironsides", it should work pretty well in your boat.

#5, don't have a clue

I agree with fisrdan on the plywood. Regardless, I would replace it with Marine grade plywood of the same thickness. Marine grade is stronger and has no unfiilled voids.

For the other pieces of wood, take them to a lumber yard or marine center and have them identify them. Teak is pretty common for boats, but I can't tell from the pictures.
