just bought a nitro with a 200hp merc. its a nice boat has low hours. its got a mercury tempus 23 pitch, had it to 73 mph it has a little more. water was rough and windy got alittle dangerous had to slow it down. loved the topend. bottom end not so good slow out of the hole, anything i can do to get better hole shot? dont have a jack plate would one help? gear ratio 1.75:1 rpm 5000-5750 wot 5750rpm. three vent holes on prop all with 1/4 open plug. motor 1998 200hp mercury optimax.boat nitro 19.6ft, wt around 1750. will i have to chang prop to get better hole shot? read up on the tempest prop should be good on both ends.will anything help without changing prop ?
