I have a 2001 Procraft 210 Super Pro with a Merc 225 EFI. I am currently running a Tempest Plus 25 pitch prop. I'm wanting to purchase a new prop as a spare or use my old one as a spare. Should I purchase a different size or type of prop or stay with what I'm currently running ?

Are you experiencing any particular issues....porpoising? Slow getting on plane?

No problems at all. Boat runs 69.6 mph at WOT. I was just wondering if I should purchase the same prop or try a different type or size.

If you read "read this first" at the top of the main prop page and get us as much info as possible we can tell better if your setup works.
Be very careful running at those speeds.A boat can turn killer in a split second at those speeds.Check out" bass boat crash" on you tube.

Prop make/type is spot on for that boat. Merc Tempest = built for Bass Boats

Size is determined by how she runs (RPM - Speed - Engine max RPM range).

What RPM are your turning at WOT?

Re: Need advice on prop selection

Those boats have good natural lift. We've had great success with Turbo Lightnings and TXPs on that combo. A lot depends on balance and load. The Lightnings have lots of bow lift and the TXP has overall lift. If you're at the top of your rpm band then you could go with a 25 Lightning or TXP. They will bite harder than the Tempest so if you could use some rpm go down to a 24 in Turbo.

Hello there DH! Good to see ya still at it....
Gotta Procraft here with a 225 DFI swinging a 24 Fury-near the same rpm as a 25 Tempest but almost 1.5mph faster. Based on what I've seen the TXP do to this style hull with "some" natural lift, I'd have to follow in Dhadleys footsteps here. I don't think the Tempest will keep up with the TXP at the right height.
