need advice on rubuild 1993 yamaha 225

[/COLOR]]I have a 93 yamaha 225 with one bad scored cylinder. 100 to 105 psi on 5 cylinders and 60 on the bad one. Do i need the whole unit rebuilt? i really cant afford for a complete and finding a honest mechnic around naples is hard. I am a little bit handy so i was wondering if i was able to do a rebuild my self and how much that would cost. I belive i can the one cylinder fixed for about $800.

can you post a full model number, in that year the 225 was made in a 2.6L version and a 3.1L version.
