Advice?

Avoid OMC (I know some guys aren't going to like that, but it is only an opinion)

The outboard will drink amount twice the fuel of the stern drives.

I don't like the way Volvo set up their leg systems.

Chris...........

The best to get is the one that good local service is available for. So if the best service is for Mercrusier, then make your life easy and get that. I have a great OMC shop so I have no problems getting my OMC fixed when needed.

Personal experience here , Imperials are very poorly engineered and constucted boats, Volvo engines are well engineered and very, very expensive to re-pair and maintain.
In short, run like hell!!
good Luck, Ed
