I just bought a 2006 Carolina Skiff JV15 (15 ft) with a Yamaha 2006 25 HP motor. This is my first power boat. I went online and bought a propeller because the one on it was busted up and when I put the new one on it the boat wont come up on plane. I have done a little research and understand the lower pitch propellers run at a higher RPMs and am looking at a new aluminum prop that is 9 9/10 inches with a 9 " pitch. I bought this boat from my neighbor who told me it came up on plane with the prop that was busted up just fine. Unfortunately in my infinite wisdom I threw the broken one away. Any help is appreciated

You need to know what that old prop was as far as pitch and diameter. If you have a tach on your motor then give us the WOT rpm to give us some direction. Without any of this information it becomes a guessing game.

A 9" prop should pop on plane. But may be over reving.
I wonder if it has only one cylinder firing.Throttle trouble?
