I did my spring maintenance on my boat and now the temps are dropping tonight to 23F for the overnight low.... do I need to panic and re winterize it this afternoon..... or will it be OK for the night

I have a Volvo 3.0L penta in it

Thanks in advance

Re: Need advise ASAP

The only winterizing need is to drain any water out of the engine block, manifold, and riser. Lower the out-drive to the down position so any water in it can drain out.

Does that mean that you hooked your engine up to muffs and ran it and therefore you have water in your block? If so, drain it or put a couple of 100 w light bulbs adjacent to it, one per side and cover it back up. Probably wouldn't need the bulbs since I assume you will be down and back up above freezing tomorrow but just in case.

The drain taps are a pain in the *** to get to so I guess I have to run it on muffs and re install the antifreeze..... crap didnt want to do that

And temps are not forecasted to go below 32 again this season..... last year we already had 3 weekends on the water and this year is the pits...

any not coast guard approve ign source is a fire hazard. ie halogen shop lights and light bulbs.
drain the water out of the cooling system and you'll be safe from freeze damage.
