Need Answer ASAP!!! 1993 Baja Hammer $6500

Looking at a 24' 1993 Baja Hammer. New Bravo out drive along with old one that I guess got dragged when down? 454 engine which says runs great with "$3500" prestige trailer fitted to the boat with brakes etc. Says the interior is in tact but needs work. Price seems great but the only problem is I gotta drive 2 hours to look at it. Think its worth the price & trip?

Interior could refer to alot more than just seats. Could be talking about floor, stringers, etc.

Well bassed on the phone conversation he said it is just the seats, vinyl etc. Says its all there just needs refinished or replaced.

I drove from Nebraska to Arizona to get my boat.. Wasn't in as good of shape as they said so talked them down when I got to look at it. Just depends on how bad you want a certain boat. I'm happy I made the trip.

Well this boat is in Nebraska... Don't happen to be in Omaha do you? Ive always wanted a Baja, Scarab etc... Just never can find them in my price range.

Its the weekend, grab the family and take a road trip. What do you have to lose? Worst case you drive 2 hours to have dinner. Best case, you have a new boat.

Do have a Brother and his family there... May pop in for a surprise visit. No family on my end. Just me, the dogs and a GF who is stuck at work

Looks like it has the potential to be a great deal. $6500 is not chump change though. I would do a compression check on the motor and check VERY carefully for rot. My concern is that a boat left unprotected long enough to fade out and crack the vinyl interior was also long enough to let water sit in and rot out the stringers and deck. I'm sure you've cruised around iboats long enough to have seen what a HUGE project redoing all those wood components can be. I'd definitely go look at it but evaluate it carefully. Good luck.

Gonna hold off... The guy called me back and says he has 3 people on the way over to look at it and hear it fired up. Dont wanna burn up half a day just to find out it sold. If the three look at it and it doesnt sell then there is probably a reason. I asked some more questions and just couldnt get a any answers out of him.

"great project boat" scares me but the price is decent if you can handle some of the work yourself. Worth a look if that's the boat you want. I'm envious of those Baja's when they rumble by, shaking my rear view mirror.

I drove 3 hrs. to get mine. He knew I was coming. When I got there he said he sold it 10 min. ago via email. I gave it a look and gave him a cheque. He took the cheque. I took the boat.
