CSM is a chopped strand mat, it is a type of fiberglass used between layers of cloth for bonding purposes when using polyester resins, you do not use CSM for epoxy resin applications.
l need to know what the terms PB, PL, CSM, Chemical and Mechanical bonding refer to during a hull rebuild.
Whats the application ?

PB or Peanut Butter is a term used for a resin that is thickened using milled fibers and cabosil to achieve a peanut butter like resin to bed stringers, fill gaps etc.
PL is a brand name, of adhesive products, we often refer to PL premium as an adhesive used to laminate woods in boat building because of its poly base and water resistance
chemical and mechanical bonding describes the way parts are joined depending on materials used
lol Bob types faster than me!
More or less this is correct ..
Yup.. it can be used as small repair fiberglass lams as well.
PB is basically just Filler. You can make it out of many different products. Cabosil, milled fibers, Wood dust, cotton flock, micro balloons, Q-cell, Talc, milled fiber .. etc. It depends on the application of what your using it for.
Kinda like 3m 4200-5200 from what I gather.
A chemical bond is when your resin has not completed its curing cycle .. and your wish to add more layers of glass or filler does not need sanding between coats ( sometimes know as Hot/Wet coating .. not Hot Batch Coating.. ).
A Mechanical bond is just application over a Prepped ( sanded/ground ) surface.
I think he has these kind of replies in a work document .. kinda like point and click lol.
