Hello, I have tried to read as much as I can before posting but still have a few questions. I have a 1991 5.0 mercruiser two barrel LH with Alpha one engine serial #od443813. The motor is seized, #1 spark plug is smashed and it has a hole in the oil pan. I thought while switching the motors I would upgrade to the 350.
Hear are the questions I have.
1) If I replace with a remanufactured motor (same period) will everything bolt on including the intake manifold, flywheel and starter?
2) Will any 350 oil pan work or are marine oil pans any different.
3) Who would you recommend for a remanufactured motor. I have read many of you use rappido marine.
4) I have read some about replacing the exhaust bellow for a pipe. I understand they are a little louder. Your thoughts please.
5)Will I save that much doing it myself or am I better off having someone do it knowing they will stand behind their work?
6) will I have to re-prop?
