After a lot of years working on these boats i finally got one that was run thru sand for about a 1/2 hr.Stbd. manifold and riser plugged solid. not one drop of water passes thru.approx. 8 oz of sand recovered from the hoses.(1/2 of a 12oz coffee cup)My dilemma is whether or not enough sand can enter the block and can it be flushed out.waiting for the new manifold to come in to retest the flow.If there is sand ingested what is the best way to remove it.

I would think a 1/2hr would be Plenty long enough for the T-stat to Open,.................
And,.....
I would think that removing the Drain Plugs from the block will Tell you how much sand you're dealing with,.......

As for Flushing ot Out,.......
You Might have to remove the Core Plugs to access the lower water jacket,........
And,... If it's Bad enough,.....
You might have to pull the Intake,..... Or the Whole Motor, to Flush it Clean.............
