I have a chance to buy a 1976 40 hp merc fo 75$ with controles. I need to know if it is worth it? If so what are the major problems with them? What do I need to check for? thank
Check the compression.Run it in a tank,or on the muffs.See if you can run it through the gears/check gear oil level.If everything pans out to be good even my cheap butt would buy it for that much.
