Need further detail on motor

Hello All,
I was hoping to get addition help here with my boat, I had the carb rebuilt and put back on the boat, but noticed there is a weathertech fitting near the carb that is disconnected and also there are 3 wires hanging loose????? one I know goes to the choke the other 2 I have no clue, the one that goes to the choke has a lug connecter on it, so I can figure that one out, but the other 2, one has a lug connector and the other one has an eye connector.
Also I noticed from the fuel separator, it seems the gas passes through another slip round filter maybe??? what is this called?
My boat is a 1997 4.3 L Mercruiser, how can I get a detailed view of all this stuff? I have already ordered a book, but was hoping to get it done earlier if possible

Need to post a pic or two. Most eye terminals on black wires are grounds. Being near the car, the eye lug probably goes on one of the three screws hold the choke pot If its black.
