I just recently acquire a boat with a 25sh yamaha outboard. I need to know the Fuel Mixture of gasoline and 2 stroke oil. I heard it was 100:1 ratio. please confirm. Thanks
use 2.6 ounces of outboard motor oil per gallon of gasoline, about 1 ounce of Yamaha Ringfree per 10 gallons of gasoline and about an ounce of fuel stabilizer like Sta-Bil or Seafoam per gallon of gasoline. That with a fuel/water separator on your transom and you will eliminate most of fuel related problems. Good luck!
Re: NEED HELP : 1987 Yamaha 25sh 2-stroke outboard gasoline mixture rate
better use the stabilizers like Sta-Bil or Seafoam to eliminate most fuel related problems, especially with the new ethanol gasolines. On a 25HP 2 stroke motor the additives will only cost you a few cents per tank of gas and will be worth it!
Re: NEED HELP : 1987 Yamaha 25sh 2-stroke outboard gasoline mixture rate
100 to 1 is what the owners manual says.
it will work but leaves NO margin for any subsystem degrdation.
my reccomendation is 50 to 1.
no your not going to foul plugs and its not going to run like poop just by running 50 to 1.
