Ok am am very new to boating and just bought a 1990 carver 27 santego and it was a bank repo and needs props. Dealer said they are 16x16 but I really need to know what is best for me to buy. Any help and or links on where to buy these would be great.

We can't really help without the info suggested on the link.
The dealer should know the best starting point. And should allow you to select a "best prop based on the results with the 16 X 16.tell us the results
based on your tests and we can make a recomendation.

Re: Need Help 1990 Carver 27 alpha one props

What is the HP? Is it a big block?

when my father got his 88 sea ray sundancer 268, it was powered with a 330 hp big block, alpha 1 drive. searay ran a 15 X14.5 prop I believe. We played with all sorts of props, we found the 16X16 worked out quite well. it pulled the boat up out of the hole very quick, great crusing speed, with decent fuel consumption. WOT rpms were a but low (4700) but that was no big deal.

My fathers boat was tipping the scales at about 8000 dry, and was roughly 27' with a beam of 8'6"

The 16 X16 might be a good option. It was an aluminum prop aswell.
