Need Help Again!!!

Here is the situation, my 9.5 evinrude would not stay running unless you kept pumping on the bulb. So was thinking that maybe the fuel pump was in need of repair. I put a kit in it and it runs better, but will not stay running. Now I am thinking that it might be a clogged jet or something not letting the fuel in unless it is under pressure for me squeezing the bulb. I have replaced the bulb, fuel line, fittings, and put a kit in the fuel pump. Why wont this engine stay running? Is my theory maybe correct about the jet? What do I need to do?

I Had what sounds like the same problem on my old fishing boat. was found to be a small hole in the fuel line and it was sucking air unless it was under pressure.

Just a thought, but worth a look

Baja

Hello.
Before you check the expensive stuff, check the cheap stuff.Like maybe your fuel line is constricted by let's say to sharp a bend or maybe a small hole in your fuel line that causes air to be sucked in instead of fuel.
I suspect that 90%of all problems with fuel supply are caused by this sort of simple cheap stuff.
Good luck.

Did you check the fuel lines INSIDE the motor, ie: from the pump to the carb and from the fuel fitting to fuel pump. Could have a small crack in the hose sucking air into the system. Make sure if you did replace these lines that you dont have a kink in them.. I know i am re wording what was said... Just refreshing it with you..

If the motor hasn't been run for a while then you probably just need to clean the carb.
