Need Help Anchoring My Boat

It's a 20'4" cuddy and I can't figure the best way to anchor it. There are cleats on either side in bow and the only other place up front would be the place I hook it to pull it up on the trailor (can't really get to it easily). No matter what, I suppose the only way will be to go up through the hatch to do this. The best I can figure is that I need some kind of rig that connects to both bow cleats that centers the anchor in some way? I am sure this has been figured out by someone. Thanks :)

Hi, I anchor my boat from the safety chain eye in the bow or sometimes from the stern on either side the variables are always to remember the conditions at the time.

On a cuddy it's through the hatch. Then just tie off the bitter end on either bow cleat. It's the one thing I hated about my old cuddy.

Is there any problem with the way the boat aligns with the current when you anchor using just one of the (off centered) cleats on the bow? I see you are in Ohio....not much ocean current to worry about there lol.

You should NEVER anchor from the stern. Boats were not made to go that way and you could easily swamp your boat.

I really like the idea of that lift and lock anchor system with a cleat installed close to the hatch to tie the anchor line off. However, what do I do with the original bow lights? Or can I install the lift and lock system just off center?

I have a guy at a neighbouring slip who had a similar problem with trying add a trolling motor on his bow rider much like you wanting to add the lift and lock.

What he did was fabricate a small aluminum plate to offset it from the bow and extended the bow lights out an inch or two. (keeps the lights centered, putting the anchor system offset just slightly, but would work)

The picture I posted above perhaps isn't clear enough, but there is a pretty bih aluminum cap on the very front of the boat, the lights are on the back of it. The entire top of the cuddy is aluminum as well. I will look today if putting it just to the side of the "bow cap" is doable. I would think that just off center will work, but again I would love to here from people that have experience with this. Thanks :)

you can off center the anchor, not a big deal. or you can replace the light with 2 lights green and red,
