Hello everyone, I haven't posted since last year. I got a new boat to me this year. It is a 97 Crownline 202 bowrider with the 5.7 carb in it. I feel like it should be a little faster then it is. I can barely hit 40mph at wot (4500 rpm). And the engine runs beautifully, takes off nice and doesn't stall but I just feel like it should be faster. I did have to change the lower unit of the outdrive and I bought it from a marine salvage yard and I'm not sure if there are different gear ratios inside these units. Also the prop is old and has been painted so it's hard to read any numbers. Any input or advice would be greatly appreciated

Well after much research I have found a way to determine the pitch and prop size if this will help maybe you can see where you are now and can choose a prop that better suits your application.
To determine the prop size you can measure from center of hub to end of blade and multiply by 2 if its a 3 blade.
to determine pitch you can try this link, it has a pitch calculator in it. hope this helps.
