Need help connecting my Fishfinder

O.K. I am really going nuts. I am trying to connect my Black (-) and Red (+) wires to the fuse block under the steering column. Here is my question.....

Where does it connect. I looked underneath and there are about 40+ wires there. Is there a simple way to connect the power to existing power? Is there something I should be looking for?

I could go directly to the battery but the only reason I have not done that is because it is so far away from the actual connection. I would need to purchase an additional wire length.
Please send your advice......

Without a picture of your fuse block we can't point you to a specific point but you DO NOT connect it to a wire. You connect the red wire to an empty terminal on the fuse panel. The black wire connects to ground (either on the panel or to the ground terminal on any of the gauges. Here is a picture of a typical fuse panel and a lighting circuit. Just pretend one of the lights is your fish finder.
