We need to know what motor and drives are in these boats.

Sunbirds are very low-end and typically had OMC stern drives which you may want to avoid due to parts and service availability.

A 29' with a 140? I don't think so. You need to do some proofreading. Your post is hard enough to read without incorrect numbers in it.

in older boats, it's more about condition, condition, condition.
get something with a common engine/drive. like mercruiser or volvo penta.

look hard for wood rot. any boat with wood rot isn't worth anything unless your up for a full restore job. which isn't particularly easy to accomplish...

research buying a used boat on google. there are many lists to help you know what you need to look for when buying.

always go with the largest engine you can find. no one ever wants less hp.

never believe the seller unless there's proof of what they say.

never buy a used boat w/o a sea trial. never.....

i meant 20 ft cuddy sorry
still under powered imho.. i got a 165hp in my 19' and i sure wouldn't want less...
