I cannot figure out which would be the better purchase!
Boat 1
Used 2007 Larson LXi 228 tower edition
Tandem axle trailer
Wake Tower with board mounts (no I don't wake board but might try)
Pass through transom
Cockpit Carpet
Bimini Top
Bow and Cockpit covers
Transom shower
Docking lights
Mercruiser 5.0L MPI Alpha one
3 blade prop
160 hrs
Depth Sounder
Warrantied for 1yr by the dealer
1 yr quick launch service
Boat 2
New 2011 Regal 1900
Single axle trailer
Pass through transom
Volvo MPI 4.3 GXI
4 blade aluminum prop
0 hrs
Depth Sounder
Premium Sound package
Cockpit Carpet
Mooring cover
Bimini Top
Factory Warranty
5 yr Motor Warranty
2 yrs dockage
The Beam on both boats is pretty much the same and the length of the 1900 is 19'10" (Regal under sizes it for whatever reason)
The reason I put the dockage/quick launch is because I am making a package deal with the dealer since I don't currently have a truck, just lots of friends with them
The price for both is practically identical which is why I am having such a hard time. I think I like the Regal a bit more but I am considering depreciation compared to the used boat and the size. But Twofootitis might be all that is coming into play. My family currently consists of my fianc?e, myself and our 30lb pup. We are a 25-26 yr old couple and will be only using the boat on inland lakes and rivers.
Seating of 8 vs 10 is not that big of a difference but something to consider probably.
I feel Regal is a better quality manufacturer based on the research and reviews I have read but Larson is not that far behind.
I am also the type of person that holds on to what I have and is not easily tempted by the next big thing. My car has been paid off for years and no plans to get rid of it for example so I am looking for a quality boat I can keep for awhile.
I cannot water test yet because the lake is still frozen.
Other thoughts, the closest Larson dealer is a 4 hours drive due west, Regal is around the corner.
The dealer selling the Larson it is a Cobalt dealer that got it in on trade.
Also concerned the Larson may be more boat then we need for this area, a lot of people have larger boats but A LOT of people have 20 yr old 18 footers too.
Thinking about just flipping a coin
I apologize if I am rambling, just trying to get my thoughts out
