Thanks for the replies I got on my thread. I installed new fuel lines on the motor (connection at carb had minor leak), rechecked the water/fuel separator (oil residue around one of the plugs)...fixed it, then cleaned the vent on the gas tank and checked the rest of the lines for pin holes. After that I took it to the boat ramp and started the motor......it still would'nt idle unless the choke button was pushed, the same problem it had yesterday. I took everyones advice and began to slowly crank the idle screw counter clockwise to richen the mixture. At first it seems to make things worse so I put it back to where it was then made very very small adjustments waiting a few seconds between adjustments, and it slowly came to life again.
I turned it counter clockwise til it almost died and clockwise until it evened out (ended up about 1/4 turn counterclockwise of initial setting). Now it starts and idles fine, and seems to pick up RPM's faster and smoother upon full throttle, and no more minor bogging when you first hit the gas. For now it seems to be fixed, I am taking it out Friday so that will be final test. Thanks for the help.
