Ok, after a long winter I finally uncovered my boat, and after charging and installing the battery i found that my tilt and trim doesn't work. All of my other electronics work, so i know it's not the battery. I'll admit i'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to engines and stuff like that, so any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Also,I'm hoping to attend a 4th of july party on the water which is this sunday, so i need to either fix or get it fixed fast. BTW it's a 2001 mercruiser 3.0 liter sterndrive. -thanks in advance

I would bet that it is corrosion... Cape Cod salt water...

Remove (one at a time) all your electrical connections and sand each one off with plumbers cloth or 220 grit sand paper. After connections sit they naturally corrode.

I would do that maintenance to ALL the connections - even the ones that are working.

Bob

It surely sounds like something is not getting juice to the trim motor. As stated, check all connections and check fuses.Make sure battery switch is on.Make sure all connections at the battery are clean and TIGHT!! And post back results.Charlie

I agree you probably missed the trim cables at the battery.Look around the battery for the red and black cables they should be about 8 gauge wire.If they are hooked up look at the power trim motor and make sure the three wire(bullet)connector is pushed in tight. Then check the fuse at the trim pump. You should have something if that all checks out.
