I'm in the middle of restoring my marquees freeport bow rider with a mercruiser 165. Even when it's done I probably be using it as a runabout and tubing boat. Obviously gonna need something else for the family for day trips. My tow rig is 2005 Dodge ram 3500 diesel So weight is not a big concern .

Hoping some of you with a better memory or possibly more experience point me in the right direction. And pretty much looking for a 8.5 wide sundancer 270 as long as possible.

Greetings . . .

Not sure I understand your question  . . . (Sea Ray) Sundancer 270's are 27 feet long (+/-) . None longer unless you have an extended swim platform.

I think they are wider than 8' 6" beam though.

I know at 1 point they made a 270 with an 8.5 beam SE model maybe?

In the end what I'm looking for the longest vessel with the most Room that's tow able without a permit with inboard engines.

Sounds like you have zeroed in on what you want and I also assume your after a I/O not a straight inboard as you stated . So unless you broaden your search/criteria there probably isn't much that " we " can suggest.

Actually I wouldn't mind a direct Drive boat but they seem to be out of my price change over $40000.
. When it comes down to I'm looking for as much space as I possibly. Is still towable without a permit. Uses an inboard based engine. The interior is mostly for the women in kids. Obviously need small galley ,head and at least 2 sleeping spaces.
