Need Help Finding Yr Of Engine?

Can't find out what year this engine is. Serial # is 8070187 ,everywhere I looked don't show it. Cover says Mercury 150, and it's a v-6. It's supposed to be a 150hp.

It's a early 80s engine built in Australia, there are hard to track down if he don't see your post. PM Dunaruna I believe he has a list from down under.

I'm a little surprised that an aussie built merc found it's way to the U.S.

The 2.0L V6 began production in 1978 (in the U.S and Aus), the nearest serial number I can find is 805xxxx but it is for an inline 6 (tower of power). My best guess is that your motor is a 1980/81 model. Sorry I cannot get any closer than that.

BTW, the U.S. 2.0L and the aussie 2.0L are identical, parts are the same.

Thank you for the help, Dunaruna. Buddy who owns the motor bought it off ebay. Had to go to north carolina to get it. Runs fine. It has a wire to temp sensor corroded very bad (gauge don't work). Needed to know year to get new sending unit. Again THANK YOU.
