Hi, first of all I must apologize becasue I am very new to this. I am trying to restart my grandpa's old chrysler motor. It is a 3.6 hp Model #-32HA Serial #-7549. I don't know anything about the year. I believe i should use 24:1 mix ratio. What kind of oil do I mix with? If anyone knows what the 2 knobs on the front are for let me know. One has a C on it and I am assuming it is the choke. But the other has a F on it and I dont have a clue. I haven't even put fuel in it yet becasue I dont want to screw anything up, but I need to try and get it working for a trip tomorrow so any advice would be great! Thanks in advance, Garrett.
garrettcrane@hotmail.com

Look at it real close. The knob with the F may be fuel mixture. A lot of the old small motors had this. My grandfather had a 7 hp Elgin that had a mixture screw on the front cover like that.

Hi Swellcat
Your motor was made in 1970. You should be able to find an after market Chrysler manual that covers this model. Taking a trip tomorrow with a motor that you are unfamiliar with may be a little risky. If this is the single cyl air cooled model then 24:1 mix would be good, use the same type two-stroke oil as for motor cycles and chain saws. if it is a water cooled motor use tcw3 rated oil. I would still mix it 24:1. The controls usually include a throtle speed control, fuel shut off (petcock), choke,low-speed needle, and sometimes a high-speed needle.

Could you tell us the model number of the Tillotson carb. Is it a MD124A by any chance?

Also will it matter if I use tcw3 oil in an air cooled model?
